This technique sets up from the traditional high block (You can use either hand). Defender's free hand comes underneath and behind opponent's arm and sets up a reverse elbow lock. Defender is able to dislocate attacker's shoulder while driving him to the ground with any number of takedown techniques. Though this particular defense is awkward during the learning phase, it soon becomes a reliable response, and is a "favorite" technique of many experienced fighters. Some execute the entire technique using only the single blocking arm.
