Sequence 5 utilizes the same deflection as in #3, but in this case the attack is directly into the armed hand. The
object is to disarm opponent, and if possible, make the arm useless for further attack. There are two countering possibilities. Defender may elect to attack opponent's hand at the thumb. Done with authority,
this will cause the knife to fall from opponent's hand. The second possibility is to strike the radial nerve, just over the wrist. This counter is probably the more effective, if one were to weigh
percentages. |
